ActiveSync provides a great synchronization experience with Windows®-powered PCs and Microsoft Outlook right out of the box. Note: Microsoft ActiveSync works only with Windows XP SP2 or earlier.

Microsoft’s ActiveSync is the latest sync software for Windows Mobile-based Pocket PCs and Smartphones. All the significant improvements of previous versions are included in this package – if your current version is older than 3.5, this update will also increase compatibility with Microsoft Office XP and Windows XP. This version of ActiveSync also contains the following:

Please note that photo sync and fast transfer speeds are available only for the devices powered by Windows Mobile Version 5.0. You should also know that Microsoft ActiveSync does not support MS Outlook 2000, being highly recommended for you to upgrade to Outlook 2003.
Microsoft ActiveSync runs on Microsoft Windows 2000 (Service Pack 4), Server 2003 (Service Pack 1 & 2), XP (Service Pack 1 & 2) operating systems. MS Windows XP SP3, Vista, 7, 8 and 8.1 are NOT supported.
